Patti Bear, LPC
Counseling and Psychotherapy

I understand that entering into a therapeutic relationship is difficult. Trusting someone can feel like a big risk - you may feel vulnerable or worried about being judged or labeled. My first goal is to help you feel safe, respected, and heard. I will spend time getting to know you as an individual with unique needs and circumstances.
People don't fit in boxes and don't follow specific patterns, so I rely on a variety of therapy techniques and practices combined to best suit your needs. You may have heard of some of the philosophies I rely upon most - Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Positive Psychology.
But theories and techniques aren't what help me get to know you. I rely on my life experience as a partner, parent, employee, friend, and community member to understand you and your needs. In addition to my experience as a therapist, I have experience in teaching, research, and management. I believe that pulling all of this experience together gives me a broad base from which to draw so I can be helpful to you.
I hope to meet you soon.
Understanding. Healing. Hope.
